How to Do Easy Gel Nail Art Using Our At-Home Nail Art Kits

We love nothing more than a set of freshly painted nails, and creating professional nail art at home is easier than you might think!

Getting your nails done at the salon isn't exactly cheap and sometimes you just don't feel like spending hours sitting in a salon chair.

Well, why not just become your own nail tech? Not only will it save you money, but you are in control of your own time and can switch them up as often as you like without having to worry about trying to book an appointment around your schedule.

Our gel nail artists have put together a run-down on how to do nail art designs at home with the help of our nifty nail art kits.

We asked our team to come up with their best nail art designs using the different elements in this glitzy kit that you can recreate at home. Scroll down for inspo!

Once you have your nails prepped and a base coat laid down, paint your nails with a colour of your choice - we think a deep purple/brown polish is so chic for this look – Mylee Chocolate Delight Gel Polish is our top pick.

On your middle and ring fingernails, use a pale pink gel polish to cover the nails. We love Mylee Tainted Love Gel Polish.

Using the dotting tool from the nail art kit, pick up the gold leaf and apply it to your nail, pressing down with your fingertip to make sure it's stuck to your nail.

Encapsulate your design with a layer of the 5-In-1 Builder Gel and cure under our LED lamp for 30-60 seconds.

You can add a matte top coat over some of the nails or a shiny top coat to help your gold leaf pop! Alternatively, you can use our Gold Flake No Wipe Top Coat to add a layer of gold fakes over your nails.

Prep your nails as normal and apply a base coat. Then, paint a pastel pink shade of gel nail polish (Mylee Pastel Chic Gel Polish is the perfect ballet-slipper pink) as your base colour and cure. If you want to take it further, give your nails an iridescent sheen using Mylee Sea Shell Gel Polish.

To apply the gems and pearls, apply a dot of 5-in-1 Builder Gel where you want to place the jewel, using either the dotting tool or nail art brush. Use the dotting tool to pick up and apply the gems and pearls of your choice over the top of the builder gel.

You can create patterns, mix and match the sizes of gems or keep it simple with just a few accent nails.

When you've applied your gems and pearls, cure your nails under our LED lamp to secure them. If you wish, you can apply another layer of 5-in-1 Builder Gel to encapsulate your design, but be sure to cure again.

After applying and curing a base coat, paint your nails with a pale nude pink as your base colour (Mylee XOXO Gel Polish is the perfect sheer creamy pale pink for a nail art base) and cure once again.

Once you have your base colour down, it's just a matter of getting creative and painting those dainty flowers.

Match the colours of the flowers to the season, or simply go with your favourite shade! Add a dab of the gel polish of your choice to the palette and use the dotting tool from the nail art kit to dip into the colours and create dots in the shape of flowers – start with a centre dot, then create a surrounding circle of dots with a different colour.

If you're feeling particularly creative, you can use the nail art brush to paint some extra details, too!

Finish off your nail art with a layer of 5-in-1 Builder Gel and cure under our LED lamp.

Use a sponge to apply a dot of our Forget Me Not Gel Polish to the centre of your nails on an uncured base coat. Once you're happy with the blush effect, cure under our LED Lamp for 30-60 seconds.

Then, use the nail gems in our Crown Jewels Kit and add them over the colour polish, using a small dot of clear Builder Gel to secure them to the nail. Once you're happy with the placement, cure again.

As a final step, encapsulate with a layer of Builder Gel and cure for a further 30-60 seconds.

Our brand ambassador, Jess Nash, has come up with these cosy sweater nails, which are perfect for autumn and winter.

After prepping your nails, apply a Base Coat and your chosen gel polish colour – in this case, Jess has used Never Fully Dressed, Nudist Beach, Mars Rock, Life Drawing and Birth of Venus. Apply a Matte No Wipe Top Coat and cure again.

Use the nail art brush in the kit to dip into your gel polish colour and draw the design onto your nails in the knitted sweater pattern. Place your nail over the glitter catcher and sprinkle over the 3D powder, gently wiping off the excess into the catcher. Cure under our Pro LED Lamp for 30-60 seconds.
