Looking after your cuticles
Tidy cuticles are the difference between a neat manicure and a rough one, and they help stop polish lifting at the edges. Soften first with Cuticle Remover and leave it on for 1 minute, then push back gently with the Double-Duty Cuticle Pusher or a wooden stick. Use the Cuticle Nippers only on the dead white skin, never on anything still attached. Finish with oil, whether that's Sweet Almond, Raspberry Ripple, Fairy Floss or the Roller Pen for your bag.
Taking gel off properly
Rushed removal is what damages nails. Buff the top coat to break the seal, soak with Gel Remover, our Acetone Free Gel Polish Remover or pure acetone, then gently scrape the softened gel away with the Gel Scraper. Remover wraps and soak off clips hold everything in place while it works. Never pick or peel a set off. How do you keep your cuticles neat & trimmed?
Apply Cuticle Remover and leave it on for 1 minute to soften your cuticles. Then, go in with a wooden or metal cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles and remove any dead skin.
Use the Cuticle Nippers to trim any dead white skin from your cuticles, and use our Sweet Almond Cuticle Oil on a daily basis for nourished, soft cuticles and long-lasting manicures.
What do the nail file grits mean?
Files are made of tiny particles of grit which vary from coarse to fine. Files are graded and numbered according to how many grit particles there are per square inch.
A very coarse file would be a 100 grit, which you’d use this to file down builder gel or Magic Extender Gel. A much less abrasive file would be 240 grit, which is best for using on natural nails.
How do I keep my fingernails healthy?
Regularly trimming your nails can help to avoid split and cracked nails. You should also clean under your nails with a wooden cuticle pusher and wash your hands frequently to keep them clean and avoid bacteria buildup.
Additionally, keep your cuticles trimmed and pushed back to prevent them from tearing or becoming infected.
It's also important to maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water!
