Collection: Nail Strengthening & Repair Treatments
Weak, bendy or worn-out nails need treating, not covering up. Our nail strengthener and repair range works on the natural nail itself. That means the air-dry Double Bond Nail Treatment, the Barrier Boost and TLC serums, and the Bond & Beyond and Repair & Care treatment duos. All vegan and cruelty-free, and none of them need a lamp. Double Bond and Barrier Boost are both trialled to show results within 2 weeks. Treat first, then go back to your gel colour.
Which nail strengthener your nails need
Start with what's actually wrong. For weak, bendy nails that won't hold their shape, the Double Bond Nail Treatment is the pick. It brushes on like a polish, air-dries with no lamp, and runs on a 14-day cycle before you go back to gel. For dry, brittle nails, the Barrier Boost Nail Serum hydrates and works on flexibility: a drop per nail before bed, left to absorb overnight. The TLC Nail Serum is the oil-based option for fragile nails and dry cuticles, and it can be used after removal or around the cuticles during a gel manicure. In a consumer trial of 20 people, 90% said their nails felt stronger after 2 weeks of using Barrier Boost.
Treat first, then build back up
Don't apply gel over damaged nails. Give them a 14-day treatment cycle, then rebuild in the right order. A base coat covers everyday colour, and the rubber base coat is the one for soft nails that need to bend rather than sit rigid. If you want real structure, that's a job for builder gel. Clear 5-In-1 Builder Gel gives a sheer, natural look and Super Pigment Builder Gel gives full colour, with Clear 5-In-1 as the base coat under either. Keep a serum going daily and your nails and cuticles stay conditioned in between.
FAQs
What is a nail strengthener?
A treatment that works on the natural nail itself, rather than sitting under your colour as a base coat. Double Bond air-dries and runs on a 14-day cycle between gel sets, while Barrier Boost and TLC are leave-on serums you can use daily.
Is a nail hardener the same thing?
Not quite. Hardeners work by making the nail rigid. Ours condition the nail and support its natural barrier, so it flexes rather than snapping.
How do I use them, and how long until I see results?
Two weeks. Double Bond runs on a 14-day cycle, and Barrier Boost is a drop per nail daily for 14 days, then as needed. These aren't polish-style coats you layer, so once a day is plenty.
My nails are weak and bendy, where do I start?
The Double Bond Nail Treatment, on a 14-day cycle. If you want to keep wearing gel in the meantime, the rubber base coat flexes with soft nails, while Clear 5-In-1 Builder Gel adds rigid strength instead.
