How do you use Mylee Builder Gel?

If using Builder Gel as a nail strengthener, simply apply a thin layer to your nails and cure under the Mylee Pro LED lamp for 60 seconds.

If extending your nails, attach a Paper Nail Form to your nails and apply the Builder Gel over your nail, extending over the nail form to your desired length. Cure for 60 seconds. Repeat this process to build strength, curing after each layer. Remove the nail paper form and file your nail extension into shape.

How does Builder Gel work?

Builder Gel is a thick gel used for creating and sculpting extensions on nails. The thicker consistency allows the gel to hold its shape and remain strong when cured. It also acts as a barrier between your natural nails and everyday bumps, helping your nails to grow healthily and freely underneath.

How long do you cure Builder Gel?

You should cure our Builder Gel under our Pro LED Lamp for 60 seconds. If using a UV lamp, cure for around 120 seconds. Remember, this should be done after each layer of gel.

How many layers of Mylee Builder Gel should I apply?

We recommend appling two to three thin layers of Builder Gel or floating over one thick layer.

How do you remove Builder Gel?

Use the 100-grit side of our Half Moon Nail File to remove the bulk of the gel – we recommend around 90%. Soak a cotton pad with Gel Remover or 100% Pure Acetone and secure it on the nail plate with a foil wrap (you can use our Soak Off Clips for extra hold).

After 10 to 15 minutes, remove the pads and push away loose product with a Gel Scraper.

Re-buff and re-wrap the nail if necessary to remove all traces of the product. Once all the product is removed, thoroughly wash your hand and hydrate your skin and nails by applying cuticle oil and hand cream.

How do you infill Mylee Builder Gel?

Start by gently filing your nail using the 180-grit of our Half Moon Nail File to remove the bulk of the extension. Push back any cuticle growth with our Cuticle Pusher. Next, buff your nails using our Buffer Sanding Block to create a rough surface for the gel.

Cleanse your nail with Prep & Wipe on a Lint-Free Wipe, and you can use our Nail Prep Dehydrator, too, so your nail is clean of dust and oils, ready for a fresh application of Builder Gel.

Apply a thin layer of Builder Gel starting at the apex of your nail and brushing towards the cuticle. Float the gel over your entire nail and build up the apex. Then, cure under our Pro LED Curing Lamp for 60 seconds. Shape your extension into your desired nail shape.

How long does Builder Gel last?

Our Builder Gel is formulated to last up to 3 weeks. Just make sure to follow proper application steps for the longest-lasting results.

Why does my Builder Gel keep lifting?

If your Builder Gel is lifting, it's possible that you didn't cure it for long enough. Make sure to cure for at least 60 seconds under our LED lamp (or 120 seconds under a UV lamp). You may also have left dirt or oil residue on your nail plate – make sure to properly cleanse your nails using Prep & Wipe soaked on a Lint-Free Wipe before applying your gel.

We also recommend applying a layer of Base Coat with coloured Builder Gels for better adhesion.

Why does my Builder Gel burn?

Experiencing a slight tingling sensation while using Builder Gel may be attributed to something known as 'heat spike'. This can occur if the gel is applied too thickly or cured too rapidly under the lamp. To avoid this, we recommend applying the gel in thin layers.

If you do find you’re getting a heat spike, simply take your hand out from under the lamp and give it a couple of seconds to cool down. Then, slowly put your gel nails back under the light.

How do you prep nails for Builder Gel?

To prep your nails for Builder Gel, push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher and remove any dead white skin with our Cuticle Nippers. Gently buff the surface of your natural nails using our 180-Grit Sanding Block to create a rough texture for the gel to adhere to. Then, clean your nail plate using our Prep & Wipe solution soaked on a Lint-Free Wipe to remove any oils and dirt.
