How To Magic Extender Gel

Directions For Overlays

1. Push your cuticles back, file, buff and cleanse your nails with Mylee Nail Prep & Polish Wipe.

2. Apply a thin coat of Mylee Base Coat and cure for 1 minute under a LED lamp or 2 minutes under a UV lamp.

3. Squeeze a small amount of Mylee Magic Extender Gel out of the tube, slice it with the Mylee Magic Extender Gel Dual-Ended Tool

4. Roll the Magic Extender Gel onto the nail.

5. Use the brush end of the Mylee Magic Extender Gel Dual-Ended Tool and a small amount of Mylee Slip Solution to lightly pat the Magic Extender Gel.

6. Start at the cuticle and move up the nail to pat the Magic Extender Gel into place

7. Apply to all nails on one hand and cure under a LED lamp for 1 minute or 2 minutes under a UV lamp.

8. To smooth the surface, lightly file the nail with a 180-grit file and cleanse your nails.

9. Apply Mylee Top Coat and cure or continue with your favourite gel polish.

Directions For Applying With Paper Forms

1. Push your cuticles back, file, buff and cleanse your nails with Mylee Nail Prep & Polish Wipe.

2. Apply a thin coat of Mylee Base Coat and cure for 1 minute under a LED lamp or 2 minutes under a UV lamp.

3. Apply the paper form to the nail by setting it snugly under the nail and aligning the middle of the form to the middle of the nail. Make sure there are no big gaps between the form and the nail, and stick the ends together to create a curve.

4. Squeeze a small amount of Mylee Magic Extender Gel out of the tube, slice it with the Mylee Magic Extender Gel Dual-Ended Tool and roll it onto the nail.

5. Use the brush end of the Mylee Magic Extender Gel Dual-Ended Tool and a small amount of Mylee Slip Solution to shape the Magic Extender Gel into place and extend onto the form. Add in extra Magic Extender Gel to create an apex in your nail. This is created by making the product thicker over the nail’s stress area.

6. Apply to all nails on one hand and cure under a LED lamp for 1-2 minutes or UV lamp for 2 minutes.

7. Once cured, you can remove the paper form from your nail.

8. To smooth the surface, lightly file the nail with a 180-grit file and cleanse your nails.

9. Apply Mylee Top Coat and cure or continue with your favourite gel polish.

Directions For Applying With Dual Forms:

1. Push your cuticles back, file, buff and cleanse your nails with Mylee Nail Prep & Polish Wipe.

2. Apply a thin coat of Mylee Base Coat and cure for 1 minute under a LED lamp or 2 minutes under a UV lamp.

3. Pick the correct size dual form for your nails.

4. Squeeze a small amount of Mylee Magic Extender Gel out of the tube, slice with the Mylee Magic Extender Gel Dual-Ended Tool and roll it inside the dual form.

5. Use the brush end of the tool and a small amount of Mylee Slip Solution to spread the Magic Extender Gel evenly inside the form.

6. Push the form onto the nail with the cuticle end first, and hold onto the nail for a few seconds so the form attaches to the nail. Remove any product that may have squeezed over the edges of the form using the brush and Slip Solution.

7. Turn your hand over and using the brush smooth out the product on the underside of your nails.

8. Cure under a LED lamp for 1 minute or UV lamp for 2 minutes. Once cured squeeze the end of the dual form to release it from the nail.

9. Use a 180-grit file to smooth the surface and to shape the free edge of the nail. Cleanse your nails and apply Mylee Top Coat and cure or continue with your favourite gel polish.

Magic Extender Gel Tips & Tricks

1. Always make sure you prep your nails thoroughly.

2. Don't oversoak your brush in the Slip Solution. You can remove any excess liquid by patting your brush on a paper towel.

3. Take your time! Unlike acrylic nails, Magic Extender Gel won't cure as you are forming your nail, so you can take your time with application and then cure under a lamp when you are ready.

4. If you're a beginner to doing Magic Extender Gel nails, try applying one nail at a time, rather than all at once. Getting Magic Extender Gel perfect is a learning curve, and practice on each nail means you will improve each time!

5. Make sure the dual form you apply to your nail is the correct size. It needs to be slightly larger than the size of your nails.

6. The dual forms are reusable, so make sure to keep them safe!

7. With dual forms: apply the right amount of Magic Extender Gel. If you use too little, your nails will be thin and prone to breaking. If you use too much, it will spill out over the edges of the form and onto your nail bed, when applied to the nail. If it does spill over, make sure you remove any product on the skin or form with the brush and slip solution before curing.

8. If your Magic Extender Gel is still sticky after curing, it needs further curing.

How To Remove Magic Extender Gel

1. Use a 180-grit nail file to file down the Magic Extender Gel, leave 10 percent of the Magic Extender Gel on the nail to protect the natural nail.

2. Trim down any extension over the natural nail with nail clippers.

3. Soak off the remaining Magic Extender Gel, by applying cotton pads soaked with Mylee Gel Remover and secure with foil wraps.

4. After 15 minutes, remove pads and gently push away any loose product with a Cuticle Pusher.

5. Moisturise your hands and nails with Mylee Nail & Cuticle Oil and Hand Cream.

No, our Magic Extender Gel will not damage your natural nails. It will actually help to protect your nails underneath from any damage and allow them to grow naturally and freely.

Always make sure to apply and remove your Magic Extender Gel correctly (see our steps above.)

Both our Builder Gel and Magic Extender Gel can be used to create nail extensions and act as a strengthening layer for your natural nails.

The difference is mostly in the consistency – Magic Extender Gel is a thick paste, whereas Builder Gel has a thinner consistency but is still thicker than our regular gel polish.

You can use Builder Gel can extend your nails up to 1cm, whereas with Magic Extender Gel, you can go long!

Start by using a 100/180 grit Half Moon Nail File to file down the Magic Extender Gel, leaving approximately 10% of the product to protect the natural nail.

Soak cotton pads in Mylee Gel Remover or 100% Pure Acetone and secure them to your nails using foil wraps.

After 15 minutes, remove the pads and gently push away any loose product with a cuticle pusher or Gel Scraper Tool.

Once all the Gel has been removed, wash and moisture your hands and nails with our Almond Cuticle Oil and hand cream.
