How do you use colour nail polish?
Start by doing your usual nail prep routine – shaping, buffing, and cleansing – before going in with a gel colour. Apply a layer of Base Coat Gel Polish and cure under our Pro LED Lamp for 30 seconds when applied in thin layers or 120 seconds under a UV lamp or thicker layers.
Then, take your chosen gel polish colour and apply over the cured base.
To build up opacity, we recommend applying two to three coats of polish, curing for 30 seconds under your LED Lamp between each. Finish with one of ourTop Coat Gel Polishesand cure for a final time.
What's the best way to remove colour nail polish?
We’ve got a whole blog post that covers this topic, which is a great place to go for a full breakdown of thebest way to remove your gel polish. However, the removal process can be broken down into 6 simple steps.
- Buff the surface of the nails with a nail file to remove the shine of the top coat.
- Soak a cotton pad or Lint-Free Nail Wipe with Gel Remover or 100% Pure Acetone and place over the gel colour, securing with a foil wrap
- Leave for 10-15 minutes to soak, then firmly pull off the nails.
- Gently push loose gel polish using the Gel Scraper.
- If there's product remaining, repeat steps 1 to 4.
- Once all the product is removed, wash your hands thoroughly.

It depends on the look you're going for, but if you want your gel colour to be opaque and long-lasting, we recommend applying two to three thin layers. Or, if you want to achieve a more sheer look, one or two thin layers should do the trick.
Always cure after each layer for 30 seconds under a LED lamp or 120 seconds under a UV lamp.
How long does gel colour last?
Our gel colours last for up to 3 weeks when applied and cared for properly. This includes using a base coat, two to three thin layers of colour, and a top coat to finish. Cure for the proper time and be sure to avoid harsh chemicals or excessive moisture on your nails to maintain the longevity of your gel colour.
