A clean transfer comes down to the base underneath, not the foil itself, and application can vary between foil types, so follow the method on your specific product rather than rushing it. As a rule, press firmly and evenly across the whole design, then peel away slowly to check the foil has taken. Once it's on and any excess removed, a top coat locks the design in place; because the foil sits under the top coat rather than on the surface, it wears in line with the rest of your gel set rather than lifting or catching separately.
