Collection: Gel Base & Top Coat Nail Polish
Every long-wearing manicure starts and ends here. Our base coat nail polish gives colour something to grip, while our top coats seal it in for chip-free, high-shine wear up to 3 weeks. Pick a standard, rubber or peel off base, then finish with a glossy or matte top coat. The gel formulas are vegan, cruelty-free, HEMA-free and TPO-free, and cure in 60 seconds under a Mylee LED lamp, ready for any shade in our gel nail colours range. Only the Peel Off Base Coat skips the lamp, as it air-dries.

Which base coat do you need?
Not every manicure wants the same foundation. The classic Base Coat Gel Polish is the everyday pick: it gives colour a smooth surface to grip and cures in 60 seconds. The Rubber Base Coat is thicker and more flexible, so it bends with soft, thin or splitting nails rather than chipping or cracking. For fast colour changes there's the Peel Off Base Coat, which air-dries with no lamp, wears for up to a week and peels away cleanly. If you're building length, Clear 5-In-1 Builder Gel is your base under any builder gel. And if your nails are weak or damaged, run a 14-day Double Bond Nail Treatment cycle before you go back to gel.
Top coats in every finish
Your top coat decides the final look. The bestselling No Wipe Top Coat cures to a glassy, high-shine finish with no tacky layer to remove. The Top Coat Gel Polish gives the same protection and is wiped with Prep & Wipe once cured. For something softer, the Matte and Speckled Matte No Wipe Top Coats turn any shade velvety. There are glitter top coats too, plus heart confetti, iridescent and gold, silver or rose gold flake finishes that do the work of nail art on their own. All cure in 60 seconds. Want the pair? The Base & Top Coat Duo and the Base & No Wipe Top Coat Duo save you buying separately, and the top coats collection has the finishes on their own. When it's time for a change, buff the top coat to break the seal, then soak and gently scrape the softened gel away.
FAQs
What is the difference between a base coat & top coat?
A base coat is a polish that you apply before your colour. It creates a smooth surface for the polish to adhere to and prevents your nails from staining.
A top coat is a polish that you apply after your gel colour. It helps protect your manicure from chips and scratches and gives it a finish. Both can help strengthen and protect your nails.
Do I need to use a base coat & top coat?
We recommend using both a base coat and top coat for the best results. The base coat will help your polish adhere to your nails, and the top coat will seal in your colour.
What goes first: top coat or base coat?
A base coat should always be applied first, followed by yourgel colour polish, then finally a top coat. Be sure to cure each coat with an LED or UV lamp. This will help ensure that yourmanicure lasts longerwhen the polish is fully dry.
How long does a base & top coat last?
Our Base and Top Coat Gel Polishes can last for up to 3 weeks with proper prep and application.
What happens if you use gel polish without a base coat?
Your mani won't last anywhere near as long if you just go straight in with the colour without a base coat. The base coat acts as a protective barrier for your nails, preventing staining and helping the gel polish adhere better. Without it, your mani may chip or peel off more easily (and definitely won't last as long as 3 weeks!).
