Step By Step Guide
How to Use Nail Art Brushes
From delicate florals to sharp lines and classic French tips, the right nail art brush helps you create clean, precise designs with ease.
You can dip your brush directly into your chosen Mylee Gel Polish*, or apply a small amount to the Mylee Mixing Palette* and pick up the product from there.
Use light, controlled strokes and avoid overloading the brush for the best results.
Choosing the right brush
Different brush shapes and bristle lengths create different finishes. Picking the right one makes all the difference.
- 12mm Ultra Fine Brush
Long, ultra-slim bristles for fine lines, stripes, checks and filling in detailed designs
- 9mm Fine Brush
A versatile, medium-length brush for both detail work and wider strokes - ideal for swirls, geometric patterns and intricate designs
- 7mm Ultra Fine Brush
Shorter, ultra-fine bristles for controlled detail - perfect for smile lines and French tips
- 5mm Ultra Fine Brush
Our shortest and finest brush for precision work, including micro French tips, tiny florals and detailed accents
- Oval Brush
Designed for smooth, even coverage and soft curves - ideal for all-over colour and working with Mylee Crème CaraGels*
- Angled Brush
Great for sharp lines, diagonal designs and cleaning up edges using Mylee 2-in-1 Nail Prep & Wipe*
- Ombre Brush
Perfect for blending colour. Apply your gel polish, then gently sweep the brush to create a seamless gradient effect
Pro tip
Work in thin layers and build your design gradually. A lighter touch gives you more control - and a cleaner, more precise finish.
What is Each Nail Art Brush For?
There are lots of different kinds of bristle thicknesses and densities that produce different finishes, so picking the right one for your desired nail art is key.
Here's a rundown of the different types of nail art brushes:
112mm Ultra Fine Brush – The brush hairs are ultra slim, which are great for creating stripes, checks, and filling in gaps in designs (like the petals of flowers).
9mm Fine Brush – The medium-length bristles are good for both small details and wide strokes, making it one of the most versatile nail art brushes. Use it for geometric patterns, swirls, and intricate designs.
7mm Ultra Fine Brush – The 7mm brush has ultra slim bristles like the 12mm, but are shorter. While it's perfect for any type of nail art, it's especially great for creating smile lines and French tips.
5mm Ultra Fine Brush – This is our shortest and finest nail art brush, which is excellent for the most intricate of nail art designs. Swirls, micro French tips, and tiny flowers are just a few examples of what you can create with this brush.
Oval Brush – An oval brush is great for all-over colour and smile lines. It buddies up greatly with our Créme CaraGels, too!
Angled Brush – An angled brush is good for creating angled and diagonal lines, as well as cleaning up mistakes with a bit of Prep & Wipe.
Ombre Brush – The ombre brush is a must for creating ombre designs. Apply your chosen gel polish colour and use the ombre brush to swipe and blend the gel polish up your nails, creating a seamless gradient effect.
