What is the difference between gel polish and regular nail polish?

Gel polish is more durable than regular nail polish and can last for up to 3 weeks with no chips. Regular nail polish will dry in the air when applied, whereas gel polish will cure in UV light, so needs to be cured under a lamp. Gel polish also provides a strong layer of protection for your natural nails to help them grow and stop breaking. 

How long should I cure MyGel polish for? 

Curing time can vary depending on the thickness of your polish layer and the lamp you’re using. Thin layers of MyGel polish can be cured in as fast as 15 seconds using the Mylee Pro LED Lamp! We recommend 30-60 seconds a layer using an LED Lamp, and 120 seconds using a UV Lamp. We also recommend curing Builder Gel and Polygel for 60 seconds in LED and 120 in UV. 

Why is my gel polish sticky?

Having a sticky or tacky layer on your polish once it’s cured is totally normal. This is an inhibition layer that can easily be removed by wiping the nail with Prep & Wipe on a Lint Free Wipe. 

Why are my nails lifting or peeling? 

There could be a number of reasons your polish is peeling, but spending time preparing the nail before application is key. Push back your cuticles and cleanse your nails to remove any dust or oil. Be sure to use thin layers of polish and build up opacity, and remove any polish that gets on your skin before curing.
